Hi, I’m Tyler. I’m an Oregon native and was inspired by this gorgeous state to capture those little moments all around us.
Based in Eugene, Oregon.
All about Bookings...
How do we book with you?
1. Start by clicking Booking. I will ask for a few details about your wedding day to gather a better understanding of your style and approach to your special day.
2. After submitting your booking information, I will connect with you via email and answer any quick questions you might have. I will also begin arranging a little meeting so that we can dive into a little more detail.
3. We will have a quick little meeting (don’t worry if you are out of town or extremely busy, I am more than happy to arrange phone meetings and work with your schedule). During this meeting we will talk a bit more about your perfect day as well as my approach and a few commonly asked questions.
5. We will sign a contract officially securing your day. At that time a 30% retainer is also due. The remaining amount is due 30 days prior to your wedding day.
Engagement & Family Sessions
For engagement and family sessions, we will set a time, date, and location with payment due the day of the session.
When should we book you?
It is never too late to inquire about my availability. I currently have availability through the end of the year.
It's generally a good idea to start booking 12 months before your wedding day; just after you select your venue.
Engagements & Proposals
I suggest booking at least two weeks to a month prior. Please note: engagement and proposal sessions have very limited availability on Saturdays between June and October.
I also suggest booking at least two weeks prior to your planned date. Please note: family photo sessions are not available on Saturdays between June and October.
All about Photos...
How many photos do we receive?
I don’t set a specific limit on the number of photos provided as I believe each story has its’ own length and I will capture the photos necessary to tell that story. While every wedding and engagement session is unique and the actual number of photos delivered may vary, here is a rough estimate for the number of photos delivered:
For a full day wedding you can anticipate receiving between 600 and 800 photos.
For an engagement or proposal session, you can anticipate between 80 and 120 photos. However, outfit or location changes may decrease the amount of time available for photos in your session and, therefore, the number of photos.
What do we receive as the final result?
You will receive a complete set of edited high-resolution JPEG photos.
The editing process is an important step in any photoshoot. During your wedding or event, all images are captured in a RAW image format to ensure the highest quality and detail. While RAW photos provide the highest quality, they lack the post-processing seen in a typical photo captured on a camera or phone. The editing process allows me to manually adjust each photo to bring out its’ full potential in a way not possible in a non-RAW image format. The photos are then converted to JPEG to allow easy viewing and sharing.
How quickly do we receive our photos?
You will receive your final photos between four and six weeks after your event. This time allows me to individually review your photos and make all necessary edits and adjustments.
However, I know how eager you will be to see your photos and I aim to complete the final edits as quickly as possible.
How do we receive our photos?
To make sharing your wonderful photos as easy as possible, you will receive a link to an online gallery where you can securely download your photos. You can also easily share the gallery with friends and family.
Do we get printing rights?
Absolutely! I provide high-resolution images that are perfect for printing and sharing on social media. All photos come with full rights for personal usage including printing and sharing as you wish.
Do you offer prints and albums?
I currently do not offer printing only because I do not feel that there is a significant enough value that I could provide outside of working directly with a printer. However, I am always more than happy to consult on prints, recommend a printer, and do everything I can to make your photos as magical as they deserve.
I am also more than happy to collaborate with you to develop an album or book of your wedding. Due to the complexity of a photo book, there is an additional cost associated with creating a photo book or album.
All about Planning...
Do we only need a photographer for the ceremony?
Your wedding day is the beginning of a wonderful new adventure together. From that moment your parents first see you in your wedding dress to your grand exit as everyone is there wishing you nothing but the best on your new adventure together, I believe that beginning is not one single moment of the day, but is the accumulation of a thousand moments telling the story of that day.
What if we feel nervous in front of the camera?
Don’t worry, your only responsibility is to have fun and enjoy the moment. I believe the best wedding photography is candid; a witness to your wonderful celebration. But sometimes you must also capture a specific moment. When capturing those must-have shots, I believe more in creating the moment than setting a specific pose; in letting that special shot come naturally. I believe this approach allows you to feel comfortable in being yourself in a way that posing every little detail cannot achieve. My job is to tell your story as you create it.
Should we ask guests not to photograph the ceremony?
I believe your guests’ first and foremost role is to have fun and celebrate the two of you on this momentous day. To that goal, I feel it can be helpful to let your guests know that a professional photographer will be documenting your wedding so that your guests can feel confident that special moment they are witnessing will be captured for the future.
One special note for some religious ceremonies, the church and officiant may ask that select moments of the ceremony are not photographed out of respect. I will always connect with the officiant prior to the wedding ceremony to ensure that your wedding day is captured in the most respectful way possible.
All about the Details...
What type of equipment do you use?
I work with professional-grade Canon cameras and lenses. I have grown-up shooting on Canon and love their color science and the sharpness of their lenses. I shoot a range of focal-lengths from wide-angle to telephoto on zoom and prime lenses. I will also occasionally mix in flashes or lights, but love shooting with natural light whenever possible.
Do you have backup equipment?
Of course! I always bring multiple camera bodies, lenses, batteries, memory cards, clothes, shoes, and band-aids. While I have never had a failure, my primary camera body shoots to two memory cards so that the instant a photo is captured, it is backed up.
For such an important and one-of-a-kind event as your wedding, any professional photographer should have backup cameras and equipment. There is no room for error.
How far will you travel and is there an added cost for travel?
I have a passport and am ready to fly. However, most of my bookings are within Oregon and I am based in Eugene. But whether it’s Hobbit Beach on the coast, a peak in the Cascades, the riverfront in Portland, or Lithia Park in Ashland, I am ready to go.
Due to the added time and cost, there may be an additional travel charge depending on the event location. While the specific cost is dependent on the location, generally there is no additional cost for events within 40 miles of Eugene.
